Trusted Mentors:
New Name – New Agency – SAME MISSION!

Trusted Mentors Inc. will continue our single mission: to prevent homelessness by providing trained, volunteer mentors to individuals that have been recently housed and referred by a homeless prevention agency. These person-to-person mentoring relationships empower, educate, and provide life skills, hope, and on-going support in order to help people remain housed and improve the quality of their lives.
Started in 2003 to support the Indianapolis Blueprint to End Homelessness, Trusted Mentors, a program at Immanuel UCC, supported over 100 families and individuals in their efforts to remain housed and move forward with their lives, with a success rate of 70% remaining housed while in the program. Because of our growth, we have grown so large that we have become an independent agency, now named Trusted Mentors Inc.
Mentors support their trusted partners as they strive to:
- remain housed
- obtain and/or improve employment
- learn budgeting skills
- finish their GED or begin college
Since 2003, program participants have:
- remained housed
- moved into homeownership
- returned to school
- reduced debt
- regained hope and joy in their lives
“I am finally making things happen. I can say this because my life is finally turning around. The job I have I enjoy and I’m working more hours. I have finally opened a checking and savings account and I’m working to reduce debt... I’m reconnecting with my church and I’m looking at life from a different perspective. And I owe it all to Trusted Mentors and my belief that with God anything is possible.” Temeika
